Artist Statement
When we cross a painful threshold… through heartbreak… we are often being invited more deeply home to the silent lullaby that’s always with us… and can never be lost. Beyond ideas of right and wrong.
These Break & Bloom sculptural paintings have been part of my apprenticeship with heartbreak and the desire to create a larger capacity to love … to remain open… to tumble my sharp edges through the wreckage… and make something beautiful from the breaks. To break.. bloom.. repeat.
Hand painted ink on yupo paper… worked until i love them.. then cut up. Hand dyed & cut vintage wedding dresses from love lost… vintage pearls… and cut up bereavement cards.
