Is it rolling Bob?
It’s been rolling on
since them sandal wearing Sumerians
got their chariot wheels a carrying
time and beer right on into Babylon.
Down the Euphrates and up the Nile.
Scarab beetle Mesopotamia.
Date palms. Deva. Amon.
Yo’ mummy been a salt embalmed
in a rock block domicile.
Through good intentions. On through corruption.
Through Athens, through Rome. West to America
From clubs to guns. To “let’s try nuclear?!”
So much creation
So much distruction
Man, it melts my brain.
Then to the present
Is it Rolling?
Rolling till it isn’t
Chris Dmytriw grew up in Pinawa Manitoba. Exposed to sculpting by being the son of a wood sculptor. Chris began his sculpting career by carving ducks. Over time building the confidence to sculpt the human form. He moved to Canmore in the 80’s where he became a member of the Canmore Art Guild and was represented by Avens gallery. It was at this time when he was working in wood, stone, bronze and clay. Sometimes combining multiple mediums in to one piece.
In 1997 Chris opened a restaurant and art became a part time passion that dwindled over the years to a very seldom event. Now retired from the restaurant industry Chris creates a few pieces each year.
