40” x 40” Oil on Canvas 2026
“Analog to me is the action of making without electronics. Painting is analog, looking with your own eyes is analog, fixing things is analog.
Thinking with your own brain and using your hands to solve a problem is analog.
To me, this chair left in a park for everyone to use represents the selfless acts human beings are sometimes capable of. A very fancy and delicate ornate metal chair is usable again for its primary purpose thanks to the rough 2x4s someone used to fix it (with a very methodological technique) and make it available to all. I am compelled by the dichotomy of the materials, the purpose and care this chair represents. So many lessons can be learnt from it.”
