Holly Ann Friesen - Artist Biography
I am endlessly inspired by the light, water, rock and trees in the landscape surrounding my studio in northwestern Ontario, and my travels across Canada and abroad.
I started my professional career as a scientific researcher in the field of genetics before turning to the arts, a field that requires a great deal of creativity and examination of concepts in the abstract. I apply these concepts to my art practice where subject matter is examined at a micro and macroscopic level leading to the overall imagery.
